2nd Temptation - Luke 4. 5 to 8: 5- And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6- And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.(With conditions) 7- If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. (This is the condition; Jesus didn’t want it, but there are many that do). Many kings, rulers, politicians, pastors and people who call themselves Christians fell for the Devil’s temptations, despite Jesus alerts about wealth and power. When He heard a discussion between the disciples about which one was the greatest, Jesus said to them (Luke 22): 25- And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 26- But ye [shall] not [be] so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be |
as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. Jesus himself says that He came to serve and not to be served, and gave example by washing his disciples’ feet in Matt. 6: 24- No man can serve two masters (...) And many other comparisons, about wealth in Rom. 6.16: 16- Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? A person works and lives for God or for money (if he serves the god of wealth, He doesn’t use adding or dividing operations, he only knows how to add and multiply. With this he doesn’t save his own mother). Jesus responded to the Devil – Luke. 4: 8- thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. We only have to look at the churches and pastors, people who calls themselves Christians, and see to whom they are kneeled adoring. |
